Hall in Holešovice hosted in the past four world ice hockey championships - in years 1972, 1978, 1985 and 1992. The Czechoslovak national team celebrated here the title and gold medals twice and added one silver and one bronze medal too. 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, which will be hosted in Czech Republic from May 1 to 17 in Prague and Ostrava, will be already the tenth World Championship held in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic.
