Who is coming, who ended?

Sparta goes to the season 2016/2017 with new coach and new faces on roster. Some players moved to the NHL, KHL or other european leagues but Sparta replaced them very well. What new faces you can see in the next season?

Josef Jandač, now ex-coach of the HC Sparta Praha and the Czech national hockey team assistant, will become the head coach of national team as from next season, replacing Vladimir Vůjtek Sr. and Jiří Kalous (photo) will replace him in Sparta.

Kalous stayed on Slavia for 14 years. He worked as the head coach of the junior national team, then as the assistant coach on the A-team and at the same time he led the juniors. From 2013 to 2015 he worked as head coach of HC Oceláři Třinec.

After the season end, Daniel Přibyl left HC Sparta Praha and signed a NHL contract with Calgary Flames. "I have wanted something like this from childhood and it is a nice feeling. I am grateful to Sparta that I got to the NHL, because that is result of what I learned here," said Přibyl. Jan Buchtele and Adam Polášek have transfered also. Polášek signed with the Sibir Novosibirsk, Buchtele was acquired by Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg.

Robert Sabolič will try his luck in Admiral Vladivostok. Canadian goalie Danny Taylor has returned to Medveščak Zagreb, Jan Hlaváč returned overseas to his family and Curtis Hamilton signed contract with SaiPa Laeppeenranta from Finland. Forwards Dominik Volek and David Dvořáček are looking for new club and Michal Dragoun has returned to Kladno.

One of the first Sparta´s summer reinforcements is Brian Ihnačák. The Canadian forward with an Italian passport and also with Czechoslovakian roots has just finished his contract in Mountfield Hradec Králové and engagement in Sparta he takes as an another great opportunity for himself to improve his skills even more.

Ihnačák will continue in his father´s steps, because Peter Ihnačák played in Sparta from 1978 until 1982. "I am proud I can play in the club, for that played my father. Sparta is traditional club with a rich history, Prague is a great place and I have grandparents here," said new forward.

At the he same time some other names has just appeared on the list. Petr Vrána (photo) who is coming back to Czech after years playing in Russia and Sweden. "I hope I will healthy to full season. I know Sparta is waiting points from me and I will do everything to team success. Sparta has a great history and lot of great players. I am looking forward to new experience."

From AHL Dominik Uher and Martin Gernát are coming as well. Both of them are young but experienced players, Martin Gernát spent overseas even five seasons.
