Patron of the Season

Every single season, Sparta honors its hockey legends and alumni by asking one of them to hold the patronage of the upcoming season. The Patron of the Season drops the season-opening ceremonial face-off and accompanies the team at all important events during the season.

Vladimir Zabrodsky – The True Story of the Hockey Legend

On 3 March 2010, a special opening ceremony took place at TESLA ARENA before Sparta’s home game against České Budějovice. The official autobiography of a Spartan Hall-of-Famer, called Vladimir Zabrodsky – The True Story of the Hockey Legend was launched.

Žemlička among Sparta legends

On 21 October 2008, a special opening ceremony took place at TESLA ARENA before the Sparta’s home game against its biggest rival: Slavia Prague. As tribute to legendary forward Richard Zemlicka, a banner with his name and number 13 was raised to the rafters. Zemlicka, who captained Sparta for six seasons, recorded the most career points and assists in franchise history.
