First home quarterfinals game will be played on Monday, March 13th, second on Tuesday, March 14th. Both games will start at 6:30pm in O2 arena. And club is looking forward to the support of Sparta´s fans. "They have been great since the start of the season. They really helped us and were on our side also in the games which didn´t went our way. They also travelled with us for the away games in the Tipsport extraliga and also in the Champions Hockey League," praises Kalous the fans.
"There will be definitely many fans from Brno, our mutual games are very prestigious. I belive that our Spartan fans will be the sixth player and will build the perfect home enviroment as it was during the regular season," hopes head coach. Sparta had the highest average home attendance in the regular season which overcame 8 000 spectators. Sparta reached this milestone for the first time in the history of the Czech extraleague.
The qurterfinal war will be launched with the first battle on Monday. "We have focused on the quarterfinals in the training last few days. We have the complete team available, we have no injured players. Moreover we have two extra lines in case of the injury or illness," says head coach. The health issues were the big problem during the last play offs. "We have learned from it and our roster is numerous. The series against Kometa will be hard and I hope we will survive without losing any player."
Sparta is heading to the play offs from the 3rd spot, therefore has the advantage of the home ice in the first two games and also in the possible 7th game. "Kometa was one on the biggest favorites before the start of this season. They ended 6th after the regular seasons, but they are still one of the favorites. We are heading to the quarterfinals with healthy self-confidence and with faith in our skills, but we respect the strenght of our opponent. The standings from the regular season means nothing now," knows Kalous before the start of the play offs.
